  
The Dutch Centre would like to finish this rather eventful year with a smile!
Join us for an evening of laughter with three amazing Dutch and Flemish comedy acts. This festive end-of-year show will be a great opportunity to have a chuckle and catch up on everything happening in the country you once called home.
The acts will include:
Nigel Williams (in English)
One of the ‘founding fathers’ of the new wave of Belgian stand-up comedy.
Nigel’s comedy is social commentary with a ‘funny sauce’, ‘rough and ready’ and not always for the faint-hearted. For the last few years, Nigel has toured all over Europe doing comedy in his mother tongue and founded the (now legendary) ‘Stand-Up Antwerp’ comedy club, bringing in top English-language comedians from all over the world.
Nigel’s act is sometimes political, sometimes observational, but always engaged, furious and most of all f***ing funny.
In 2022, Nigel appeared on the Comedy Stage of the amazing Sziget festival in Budapest.
Vlamousse (in Dutch)
Cabaretduo Vlamousse bestaat uit Maya van As en Brigitte van Bakel en staat sinds 2018 samen op het podium. Tijdens hun deelname aan het Leids cabaretfestival in 2019 noemde het Leids Dagblad ze ‘schaamteloos grappige energiebommetjes die prikken in gevoelige plekjes’ en daar sluiten ze zich helemaal bij aan.
Allebei gefascineerd door het klein menselijk leed binnen de grote thema’s smijten ze al het maatschappelijk ongemak op tafel. Van racisme tot orgasmekloof, ze maken het bespreekbaar met hun publiek. Met hun deelname aan het BNN-televisie programma ‘Ik ga stuk’ veroverde ze menig kijkbuishart, maar in 3D zijn ze nog veel leuker hoor. Hopen ze.
Teun van den Elzen (in Dutch)
Teun ons multi-talent. Hij is comedian, tekstschrijver, filmpjesmaker maar bovenal een cabaretier. In 2019 won hij de jury- en publieksprijs van het Groninger Studenten Cabaret Festival. Op zijn YouTube-kanaal Saaie Kutpolitiek fileert hij de Haagse ontwikkelingen rondom het Binnenhof. Daarnaast is hij is één van de vaste comedians van Club Haug in Rotterdam en schrijver en redactielid bij Dit Was Het Nieuws van AVROTROS.
Teun studeerde cum laude af als politicoloog en dit is ook te merken in deze eerste avondvullende theatershow. Een show vol persoonlijke verhalen, scherpe politieke analyses en met heel veel humor.
