Kauwboy Boudewijn Koole, 2012, 84 minutes
Don’t miss the opportunity to watch the award-winning film Kauwboy.
Kauwboy won several awards at European festivals. It only has only three significant characters and might be considered a cinematic equivalent of a young-adult novel.
With his first feature-length film Boudewijn Koole has succeeded in creating a touching portrait of a boy who is struggling with a difficult family situation. Every detail reflects his need, but also his unbridled joy at the beautiful moments in his life.
The film is told from the point of view of Jojo (Rick Lens), who has a wary relationship with his sullen father. When he rescues a baby crow that has fallen from its nest, the boy discovers a sense of purpose.
