About The Event
In her talk, “Rewriting the Rules: Accessible Health Tech for All,” Amber Vodegel highlights why the next generation of health tools must be built for and with the communities that have historically been left out.
At the center of her vision is on‑device AI, which brings intelligence directly to users without relying on constant connectivity. It’s faster, more private, and far more practical for people in low‑infrastructure environments.
Vodegel also pushes for culturally sensitive design, urging creators to move beyond one‑size‑fits‑all solutions. Local languages, norms, and lived experiences aren’t edge cases, they’re essential.
For underserved communities, Vodegel argues that access alone isn’t enough. True impact comes from co‑creation, community partnerships, and tools that reflect real needs rather than assumptions.
The talk is followed by Q&A and plenty of opportunity to network while enjoying a nice drink and of course our legendary 'bitterballen'.
