Join us for an evening on LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) consisting of a panel discussion on LGBTQ and human rights. Is The Netherlands still perceived as a safe place for the LGBTQ community? What is the situation in the UK and what are challenges globally?
We are so pleased to announce that Boris Dittrich, Peter Tatchell and Carolien van de Lagemaat will be speaking at the event!
ABOUT THE SPEAKERSBoris Dittrich joined Human Rights Watch in 2007 where he worked on different levels to achieve non-discrimination and equal rights for the LGBT community. After more than 11 years as their LGBT advocacy director, he started campaigning for a seat in the Dutch Senate and was elected in June of 2019.

Peter Tatchell has been campaigning for human rights, democracy, LGBT+ freedom and global justice since 1967. Through the Peter Tatchell Foundation, he currently campaigns for human rights in Britain and internationally.

Carolien van de Lagemaat chaired the Dutch Transgender Network (TNN) from 2008 until 2015 and worked relentlessly for transgenders equality in the Netherlands. She pushed for change in which she was very successful, particularly with the adoption and entry into force of the ‘Transgenderwet’ (Transgender Act).
