Opening: Low Countries Film Festival (6 Nov 2018)

We are very excited to kick off the 4th edition of the Low Countries Film Festival with the following two award winning films. A ticket for the opening is valid for both films.

Niemand in de Stad (“Open Seas”)
Genre: Dutch drama (1h 42 min) 

Three young friends take their first tentative steps into adulthood during their college years in Amsterdam. An unexpected death within the group has drastic impact. During this tumultuous time they strive to break free from their upbringing and social background, experience the true meaning of friendship and find out who they really are. Open Seas is directed by Michiel van Erp and the official opening film of the annual Netherlands Film Festival in 2018.

Doof Kind (“Deaf Child”)
Genre: Documentary (72 minutes) 
Deaf Child is a coming of age film by Alex de Ronde in which he portrays the life of his son, a charismatic young man who happens to be deaf. The film follows Tobias from the cradle to the present day through archive material and other personal footage. This documentary is the winner of the VPRO Audience Award 2017 & IDFA 2018.
