Film When we lost to the Germans – Toen we van de Duitsers verloren

Summer, 1974. It is the day after the lost World Cup final between Germany and the Netherlands. The streets are quiet and the city is hungover. Jonas runs into Daan and although they are not friends, they hang out together on this dull summer day. After all, they are both looking for their classmate Karsten, each with their own reason. Meanwhile, Catootje’s disappearance hangs over the boys like a dark cloud.

Subtitles in English.
This film is part of the Low Countries Film Festival (LCFF) on the 7th and 8th of November. Buy a ‘3 Day Low Countries Film Festival Pass’ and get to see ‘The Tatta’s’ on 8 November and Sweet Dreams on 21 November as well.

Many thanks to our Festival sponsor, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, for their generous support of this year’s LCFF.

I'm excited to be part of the Dutch Centre team! I'm an Event Coordinator with a passion for bringing people together through cultural experiences. In my current role at the Dutch Centre, I manage all communication for our cultural events.
This includes creating content for the website, social media, and newsletters, as well as recruiting and training volunteers to help out at the events. As a Sponsorship and Raffle Donations coordinator I'm also actively involved in organizing the annual Dutch King's Day celebration in London. Prior to joining the Dutch Centre, I have over 10 years of experience in event management, marketing, and communications. I've worked with a variety of organizations, from the Netherlands Film Festival to the Nederlandse Reisopera. In all my roles, I've thrived on creating successful events and using communication to connect with audiences.
